His recent theatrical appearances include Fishamble's The Alternative, Druid's Epiphany & Furniture national tours, and Garry Hynes' Waiting for Godot at Lincoln Center, for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the 2017 Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards.
Despite his reputation as a humorous actor, Nolan has a considerable presence in historical dramas at theaters like the Abbey and the Gate. His film credits include Juliette Binoche's A Thousand Times Goodnight, the character of FitzJohn in the feature film Wild, and others.
