Holly Wells, born on September 1, 1991, in Soham, Cambridgeshire, was brutally murdered along with her best friend, Jessica Chapman. 

At age 10, Wells and Chapman went missing from the Wells home on August 4, 2002, and were found dead on August 17, 2002, after going missing for almost two weeks. Their bodies were found in a ditch near an airbase in Lakenheath, Suffolk.

Ian Kevin Huntley, a school caretaker, and his girlfriend Maxine Ann Carr, a teaching assistant to the girls, were arrested for killing the innocent girls on August 17, 2002.

The murderer, Huntley, was sentenced to two-term of life imprisonment by the High Court but later imposed a minimum term of 40 years in prison. His girlfriend, who supported the murderer and provided a false alibi to police, was sentenced to three and half years of prison.

After the death of their daughter, the couple, with his son Oliver, moved out of the house as, according to them, the memories were too painful. However, they never sold the property and plan on moving back. 

According to Bustle, in an interview with Kevin, he told the Evening Standard that his daughter's death broke him and his wife entirely for the first five months, but after that, they processed their grief at different speeds.

Holly's father also said that they determined to be among the 5% of couples who stayed together following the grief of a murdered child. They had struggled a lot because of the unimaginable death of their daughter.  

Where Are Kevin And Nicola Wells Now?

Kevin Wells and Nicola Wells, parents of daughter Holly and son Oliver have now become grandparents to their son's children. 

A 51-year-old Kevin, who used to run a window cleaning business, has now founded a patron of the charity Grief Encounter in the remembrance of his dead daughter Holly. This charity, Grief, will help the families who went through the same life loss. 

For this bereavement charity, Grief, Holly's father took part in a seven-day trek to the Great Wall of China to raise funds. Moreover, he also ran the London Marathon for the Charity in 2012. 

The parents of murdered Sohan schoolgirl Holly Wells announced that they had become grandparents for the first time, the weeks before the 13th anniversary of their daughter's death. Also, their grandson Ethan is now 18 months born to this son and Holly's brother Oliver.

What Happened To Holly Wells?

Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman were the two Soham school girls killed brutally by the school caretaker Ian Kevin Huntley.

Chapman was at the Wells family for the family barbecue, where they played in Holly's bedroom, sneaking out of the house to buy sweets from a vending machine at the local sports center.

While returning to Wells's house, the school caretaker Huntley lured them back to his house and subsequently murdered them via asphyxiation. Then, the bodies were disposed of in an irrigation ditch close to RAF Lakenheath Suffolk. 

Holly Wells And Jessica Chapman documentary ITV

The murder of two Soham schoolgirls horrified the whole country with their documentary was made by ITV.

On December 14, 2007, the Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman documentary was the first broadcast. This documentary, Being Maxine Carr, focuses on the lasting public outrage at Carr's efforts to prevent the course of justice following the murders was shown. 

Then, on April 25, 2017, a 90-minute documentary was made, narrated by Alison Steadman. This documentary featured interviews with previous lovers of Huntley and the murder.

After that, a 60-minute documentary was filmed focusing on the efforts made by Huntley and Carr to deceive police and the public alike on August 18, 2017.

Similarly, on May 23, 2019, Channel 5 also commissioned a documentary focusing on the Soham murder. This documentary was titled 5 Mistakes That Caught A Killer.
