Jake Delhomme Wife Keri Melancon Raised Two Daughters Lauren and Lindsey Delhomme

Jake Delhomme and his wife Keri attended the same high school Teurlings Catholic in Lafayette. 

The couple married on February 11 of 2000 and were high school sweethearts. 

Who Is Keri Melancon?

Dr. Keri Melancon is an MD who specializes in family medicine. Keri is from Lafayette, Louisiana. She has eighteen years of experience in the medical field. 

Melancon graduated from Saba University in the Netherlands-Antilles. She has been certified by the American Board of Family Practice in family medicine. Dr. Keri did her residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Keri is also part of the Cocke County Medical Society, the American Academy of Family Physicians, Tennesee Medical Associates, and the American Marketing Association. 

When not working as a doctor and caring for her patients, Dr. Keri likes to spend time with family and friends. She also likes to take in and enjoy the mountain views when fishing and hiking through the Great Smoky Mountains, a range rising along the Tennessee–North Carolina border. She currently lives in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. 

Jake and Keri have two daughters, the eldest Lauren Elizabeth Delhomme and Lindsey Marie Delhomme. 

Lauren was born on December 17 of 2002 and Lindsey Marie was born in February 2007. 

When Lauren was born, Keri had to go through seventeen hours of Labour. In honor of his first daughter being born on the 17th and the 17-hour labor Keri had to go through, he decided to choose Jersey no. 17. 

Like Jake and Keri, Lauren also attended Teurlings Catholic High School. Again like both her parents, her alma mater is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 

Talking to Joe Menzer, a correspondent for Panthers in 2015, Jake revealed that he was coaching Lauren and Lindsey.

Both of them have been coached in soccer, volleyball, and basketball by Jake. He joked that more often than not the girls were worried about their ponytails being straight. 

Jake Delhomme was born to Jerry Delhomme and Marcia Delhomme. He also has a brother named Jeff Delhomme. 

Jerry used to be a jockey; he had his first race in 1957 when he was eight. His family trained quarter horses and later switched to thoroughbreds. 

Jerry has also worked as a food specialist with Agriculture Department; while working there, he taught at a track in his house. 

Marcia grew up in the little community of Martinville. Her alma mater is the University of Louisiana for secretarial science. Although Marcia could work for a law firm, she chose to work at the School Board to be home for the boys, Jeff and Jake on their vacations. 

Jeff is a horse breeder from Louisiana. He has been breeding thoroughbred horses since 1991.

Jeff has also served as a director for Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association. He had received a football scholarship to McNeese University in Lake Charles. Still, his athletic career was cut short after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his senior year. Jake joined his brother to breed horses after his retirement.
