Monica Malinen Tennis Career
Monica was born on November 5, 1997, to Eira Malinen and Juha Malian in Turku, Finland. She currently resides in Oulu, Finland.
Monica started her freshman year in 2016-17, followed by her Sophomore in 2017-18 at Western Kentucky University.
She played as a junior for the 2018-19 season and a senior for the 2019-20 season.
During high school, she won three ITF tournaments in 2015 - TATS Open, MTV Total, and Junior Cup. She was also on Finland Fed Cup 2016 National Team.
She started her season 2019-20 as a senior with a rank of 53rd in the nation in doubles with player Sara Nayar. She also received the invitation to compete in the ITA All-America Championships. She is the winner of three-straight matches at the ITA Mountain Regional.
Monica's parents are Juhu Malinen and Eira Malinen. She has an older sister named Jessica, a tennis player.
Monica's father, Juhu, is a well-known football coach in Finland. He is currently a head coach for the Finland U-21 football team.
He used to work as a teacher before entering the football field. He also has experience working as a football commentator besides his coaching career. Juha is on Instagram as @jumalimpi and has 582 followers to date.
Monica's mother, Eira, is the CEO and Founder of Iki Health Group Oy. She has studied Sports Medicine at the University of Kuopio.
