Lior Raz and  Meital Berdah was born  in Israel on 15 July 1978. Berdah was born and raised in an Israeli family.

His parents moved to Israel from Iraq and Algeria.

Raz was raised in a town named Maale Adumim, which has 40,000 inhabitants. His father previously served in Shayetet 13 and Shin Bet as a security officer and later operated a plant nursery.

Arab workers who worked at his father's garden taught the actor Arabic language; they were his playmates in his early childhood.

His mother, on the other hand, was a teacher who taught Hebrew to grade school students at a local institution.
