22-Years-Old Mets Outfielder Faces Suspension For Substance Use

Karell Paz, an outfielder with the Detroit Tigers who is presently playing in the Dominican Summer League, was given a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive.

Besides, the test results show the use of performance-enhancing drugs like stanozolol and the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor agonist Gw501516.

Karell's ban was one of five for infringements of the minor league drug prevention and treatment program that the commissioner's office announced on Friday.

Derek Dietrich, a former big league slugger, was given a 50-game ban after testing positive for a stimulant.

Ivan Gonzalez, a pitcher for Toronto in the Dominican Summer League, was given a 60-game suspension without pay after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug Stanozolol.

After testing positive for a stimulant, pitcher Kanoa Pagan, on San Francisco's Arizona Complex League roster, received a 50-game suspension.
