A Nigerian senator has been accused of planning to send a youngster to the UK so that he might be harvested for organs.

Nigeria's former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka, made an earlier Thursday appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court in west London.

The alleged victim, 15, has been placed in foster care. According to the Met Police, organizations were working hard to help him.

Ike Ekweremadu, a 60-year-old politician, has spent the last 19 years in Nigeria's Senate. Additionally, he is associated with the People's Democratic Party.

Chief Ekweremandu was born in Enugu State's Amachara Mpu in the Aninri Local Government Area and is of Igbo descent. Furthermore, he has a law doctorate from the University of Abuja in Nigeria.

On the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) platform, he was appointed Executive Chairman of the Aninri Local Government Council in 1997. In the same year, he also earned the Best Council Chairman of the Year honor.

Ike was hired in 1999 to serve as the chief of staff for the governor of Enugu State, a position he maintained until 2001. Then, he was designated Secretary to the Enugu State Government.

From 2007 to 2019, he spent three terms as the Senate's deputy president. Most recently, he was elected a visiting lecturer at the University of Lincoln.

Ike Ekweremadu And Wife Beatrice Nwanneka Facing Charges Of Organ Trafficking 

The Nigerian husband-wife duo has been charged by the London Metropolitan Police with conspiring to bring a child to the UK for harvesting organs, the authorities made a statement. 

55-year-old Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu is accused of conspiring to set up or aid another person's travel with the intention of exploitation, specifically organ harvesting.

Ike Ekweremadu is convicted of conspiracy to organize or enable another person's travel with the goal of maltreatment.

Authorities were informed about possible modern-day slavery offenses, and the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Team launched an inquiry.

Removing body parts from a person against their choice and frequently for financial benefit is called organ harvesting.

The police claimed that "A youngster has been secured and we are working closely with partners on further care," without specifying the child's gender.

According to sources, he received ten exotic cars as part of his official convoy after winning the DSP seat in 2015, which was worth more than $300 million at the time.
