Pallavi Sharda was born in an Indian family to parents Hema Sharda and Nalin Kant Sharda in Perth, Western Australia.

Her parents are well educated; they studied IIT alums and have PhDs in science and engineering. Also, Hema and Nalin migrated to Australia in the 1980s, before their daughter was born. Then, Pallavi was born on March 22, 1988.

Sharda as a toddler came to Melbourne, where she grew up in the outer north-western suburbs. She went to Lowther Hall school in Essendon, where she obtained an academic scholarship.

Sharda then commenced her LLB and BA as well as Diploma in Modern Languages from the University of Melbourne when she was just 16 years old. After Pallavi's graduation, the actress shifted her base from Melbourne to Mumbai in 2010. 

Pallavi belongs to Indian Ethnicity, although her nationality is Australian as both her parents are from India.

Before coming to Australia, the actress's mother was from Delhi, and her father was from Mumbai. After marriage, they shifted to Australia, where Pallavi Sharda was born. 

Pallavi's mother and father are both engineers in IIT by profession and later did their PhDs in Science and Engineering. As the actress comes from a very well-educated family, she graduated from university with LLB and BA degrees with good grades. 

The daughter of Hema and Nalin belongs to the Panjabi family background, and she follows the Hindu religion. Also, she has a brother named Ankur Sharda.
