What Actually Happened With Otto Warmbier Teeth? Arrested By North Korea And Tortured To Death

Otto had been held hostage in North Korea for 17 months and had his teeth damaged when he was released to his family.

According to Otto Warmbier's dental records, his bottom teeth were positioned towards the back of his mouth. According to reports, heavy pressure was applied to his teeth after his arrest in North Korea, resulting in bone loss.

Likewise, Dr. Murray Dock revealed that his teeth were moved back towards his mouth, which did not happen naturally. He also stated that he was a healthy dental patient with no dental issues before traveling to North Korea. Moreover, Otto's father revealed that someone had rearranged a couple of Otto's bottom teeth with pliers.

Although the autopsy results showed that he was in good health overall, he had scars around his mouth. All his physical features, except his teeth, were in good condition.

Warmbier was arrested and convicted of stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel while traveling to North Korea with a guided tour group. In 2016, Warmbier was waiting to leave North Korea at Pyongyang International Airport when he was arrested for stealing the poster.

Otto was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor. He also suffered a severe neurological injury from an unknown cause and went into a coma, which lasted until his death.

To clarify, after receiving his sentence, Warmbier suffered from a significant neurological impairment caused by a legitimate cause. It was also revealed that he fell into a coma because of the combination of botulism and sleeping pills.

A federal judge of New York ordered that over $240,000 of seized North Korean bank assets be paid to Warmbier's family this month. Judge Lawrence E. Kahn stated that while a D.C. federal court found North Korea liable to pay the Warmbier family more than $500 million in 2018. 

Otto died after his parents asked for his feeding tube to remove. On June 19, 2017, at 2:20 p.m., a 22-year-old boy was killed in the hospital. The autopsy was performed because his family members requested it. They did, however, perform an external postmortem examination, which revealed that a blood clot, pneumonia, sepsis, or kidney failure ultimately caused the death.

According to the doctors, the boy may have stopped breathing if he had food poisoning and was paralyzed from the sleeping pills. On June 22, 2017, more than 2,500 people attended Warmbier's funeral at Wyoming High School.

Otto's parents, Cynthia and Fred Warmbier, are still fighting for justice for their son.
