What Happened To Nick Fudge From Wicked Tuna? Duffy Death Cause And Obituary

Nicholas Fudge passed away unexpectedly at age 28 in July 2018.

His coworkers said that his death was shocking; nonetheless, the cause of behind his death was later reported as decompression sickness.

He used to work in Wicked Tuna. The focus of the television program Wicked Tuna is on the fisherman. Tuna fishermen from Massachusetts who go fishing in the North Atlantic Ocean are featured in the reality television program.

Duffy worked on the Pinwheel with his good friend Tyler McLaughlin. Wicked Tuna, the company's official Twitter account, announced Nicholas Fudge's passing.

Captain Tyler McLaughlin continued with the show even after his first mate and best friend Duffy passed just a few days before Season 8's filming began.

Tyler decided to choose his sister Marissa to fill the role of the first mate because she had a captain's license and was more than qualified.

In the National Geographic video, Tyler was heard saying, I'm scared I could burn out this season, so I'm relying on Marissa to be a great first mate and she still has a lot to learn. But she now holds a captain's license and can navigate with the radar reading ability.

The cause of his death was decompression sickness, also known as The Bends.

According to Diversalertnetwork.org, it is the outcome of poor decompression following exposure to increasing pressure.

The sickness is most common in divers and scuba divers because body tissue absorbs nitrogen bubbles, which can affect any body part.

No reports confirmed the cause of Duffy's death from Wicked Tuna. Most of Duffy's followers were puzzled by his cause of death, dubbed unusual death by most news sources.

According to Nick's obituary posted on the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home website, Fudge died "unexpectedly" on Thursday, July 19, 2018. 

While his death cause was not made public by New Hampshire police, a local fisherman revealed to New Hampshire Union Leader that he may have been a victim of decompression sickness.

Based on his obituary, Fudge loved the outdoors and began fishing with his father and grandfather as a child. Fudge's family has requested donations be made to a memorial fund, with proceeds benefiting environmental preservation.
