Why Is Nick Faldo Leaving CBS Sports? Retiring Sports Analyst Makes Fans Sad

Nick has shocked everyone after announcing that he will retire from the "full-time broadcasting" for CBS Sports and Golf Channel. He has presented as the lead analyst for CBS since 2006. According to Golf Digest, he will also compete for the last time in the Wyndham Championship in August. It is the regular final PGA Tour event. 

He also uploaded the complete statement given by himself on theosis media. His fans and followers did not expect that the journalist would be retiring so soon. Further, as he would be leaving the news channel, the Chairman of the form, Sean McManus, has already announced Trevor Immelman as the lead analyst for golf.

At the closing of the 2021–22 PGA Tour season, Faldo, who has been a lead Golf analyst for CBS Sports since 2007, announced Tuesday that he plans to retire. After a half-century of triumphs on and off the course, Nick Faldo decided to retire from golf and media. He has achieved all one could achieve in the world of golf.

Having called his last Masters season, the six-time major champion will be seated next to Jim Nantz for the final time at the 2022 Wyndham Championship in August. 

The 2008 Masters champion, Trevor Immelman, who joined the PGA Tour on the CBS commentary crew in 2019, will take over as Faldo's lead analyst position as the athlete's contract has ended.

Nick Faldo is married to his fourth wife in December 2020 in Lindsay De Marco, in the Florida Keys. They had first planned the location of their special day to be in Kensington Palace, but because of COVID-19, it was called off there. The professional television presenter had taken a vow for the first time when he was 21. 

He married his first wife, Melaine Rockall, in 1979. But the couple could not stay together even for five years. She discovered that her then-husband was in a secret affair with Gill Bennett, his manager's secretary.

Later, Faldo divorced his first wife and married his girlfriend Bennette in 1986. Further, he had three children with her Natalie, Mathew, and Georgia. 

He left his wife in England while on the PGA tour to play. But their marriage life did not go as expected after he began a relationship with Brenna Cepelak, a 20-year-old American golfing student. 

Later his relationship with the young student also failed after three years. Then, finally, the former golfer met Valerie Bercher. She was a Swiss PR agent and had met him in the European Masters golf tournament. 

Nevertheless, he married Bercher in 2001. He threw a lavish party in his Windsor home. In 2003, the pair were blessed with a daughter Emma Scarlet. However, in May 2006, he filed for a divorce. 

Nick, a professional golfer and a television commentator has an impressive net worth of $60 million. Throughout his golfing career, he was also titled with multiple open championships. In addition, for 97 weeks, he was named number one on the Official World Golf Ranking. He was also given the title of lead golf analyst for CBS Sports in 2006. 

Additionally, throughout his career has a total of 3 professional wins and has done many tours. Faldo has been part of the European Tour the most. He had also won awards like the Payne Stewart Award, BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and more. Some also believe that the athlete might have saved some more if he had not paid for three divorce settlements.
